The Sculpture: The Human Body in Motion

The interactive component of this exhibit intends to provide a detailed comparison of Michelangelo's twisting and twirling figures to Bertoldo di Giovanni's Battle with Hercules as well as Antonio del Pollaiuolo's Battle of the Nudes and other antiquities that would have been present in the collection of Lorenzo De' Medici. It will also highlight Michelangelo's deviations from these traditions as he began to explore the human form as considered under his own artistry.
